For information on generating reports, see Generating a Report in Site Analytics.

The Page tab provides the following reports, which detail information about your visitor's interaction with your website's pages.

Page Views

Page Views show the number of times each page has been accessed. This report is useful in determining the number of times pages are viewed by visitors and the general amount of traffic on the site.

NOTE: Page views represent each time a single page is accessed, whereas hits can represent multiple items (images, charts, plug-ins) accessed within a single page view.

Pages

The Page report identifies the number of times a specific page in the site was requested and the average amount of time spent on the specified page. This report is helpful in determining the most popular pages in the site.

NOTE: Pages with dynamic content may be high on this list because the report only looks at the HTML page, not a specific ASP or PHP page.

Entry Pages

The Entry Page is the first page a visitor viewed on the site. Entry pages are usually a home page which may be shown as '/', or as the actual page, depending on the URL used to get there. Pages linked from other sites will also show as entry pages.

Exit Pages

The Exit Page is the last page the visitor viewed before leaving the site.

Bounce Rates

Bounce rate is the percentage of visits that originate from outside your site, land on a page, and exit from the same page before visiting other pages. This identifies pages with content that does not meet the expectation of those landing on it, generally due to inaccurate keywords, if a search was the source of the visit. It also happens when there is a link from an outside site whose content is not relevant to this site's content.

Most Popular Day

The Most Popular Day report identifies the day of the week the site received the highest number of visitors. This report always shows data for the seven days of the week.

Most Popular Hour

The Most Popular Hour report identifies the hour when the site received the highest number of visitors. This report always shows data for the 24 hours of the day.

NOTE: Pages with dynamic content may be high on the list because the Content Management System (CMS) might be obscuring the real page name. Most CMS packages have a configuration option to use "search engine friendly" page names. For better tracking of actual page names, this option should be chosen.

You only see the Site Overlay option if you have Real Time Stats enabled. For information, see Enabling Real Time Stats in Site Analytics.
