Site Analytics Referrer Reports
For information on generating reports, see Generating Reports in Site Analytics.
The Referrer tab provides the following reports, which detail information about other websites referring visitors to your website.
Referring Domains
The Referring Domains report identifies the top domains that have provided referrals to visitors of the site. These are often search engines or other sites that carry a link to the site.
NOTE: Direct referrals are referrals that come directly to the site without being referred by another website or search engine. If your website URL is listed in the Referring Domains report, the visitor accessed the site directly by typing the site URL in the browser address field or using a bookmark.
Referring Pages
The Referring Pages report displays the website's URL from which your visitor came.
Search Engines
The Search Engines report lists the search engines used by visitors that provided links to the site. This report is useful in determining the search engine that provides the most referrals to the site. In addition, it can be used to suggest marketing opportunities designed to capture visitors from a popular search engine or perhaps strengthen the site's presence with a less popular search engine.
Keywords
The Keywords report identifies the most common keywords that potential visitors use when conducting a search that ultimately brings them to the site. These are keywords that visitors associate with the site and can be used to update the META KEYWORD tag on each page to increase search engine hits.
