With Quick Blogcast®, you can automatically delete spam. A third-party application called Akismet™ filters comments for spam, and you can select to automatically delete those comments.

Typically, spam comments are attempts to sell readers something unrelated to your blog, using your posts as platforms for free advertising.

Akismet uses a frequently updated algorithm to monitor and accurately mark offending comments as spam. You can then decide whether you want to retain comments marked as spam, to later review them yourself, or to have Quick Blogcast automatically delete spam comments.

If you select not to automatically delete spam or if you have a Quick Blogcast Economy account, you must manually review and delete comments marked as spam on the Manage Comments screen. See Managing Comments in Quick Blogcast for more information.

To Automatically Delete Spam

  1. Log in to your Account Manager.
  2. Click Quick Blogcast.
  3. Click Launch next to the account you want to modify.
  4. From the Manage Blog menu, select Settings.
  5. Go to the Spam tab, and then select Auto-Delete Spam Comments.
  6. Click Save.

NOTE: The automatic comment spam protection works transparently and does not notify you of any auto-deleted messages. There's a chance that some valid messages could be auto-deleted.
