Organizing Your Domain Names in Folders
Domain name folders help you organize your domain names in the Domain Manager. You can group multiple domain names together in a folder, making it easier to locate and perform updates on them at one time. You can create an unlimited number of folders and add an unlimited number of domain names to a single folder.
Here's information on creating and deleting the folders, as well as adding and moving domain names around in them.
Creating a Domain Name Folder
Create separate folders to store your domain names. Here's how:
To Create a Domain Name Folder
- Log in to your Account Manager.
- Next to Domains, click Launch.
- Click Folders.
- Click New Folder.
- In Folder name, enter the name of the new folder.
- In Description, enter a folder description.
- Click OK twice.
NOTE: Folders display in alphabetical order.
Editing a Domain Name Folder
You can update the folder name and description for an existing folder.
To Edit a Domain Name Folder
- Log in to your Account Manager.
- Next to Domains, click Launch.
- Click Folders.
- Select the folder to be edited, and then click Edit.
- Complete the updates, and then click OK twice.
Deleting a Domain Name Folder
You can delete an existing folder. Deleting a folder removes it from your account and it cannot be restored.
To Delete a Domain Name Folder
- Log in to your Account Manager.
- Next to Domains, click Launch.
- Click Folders.
- Select the folder to be deleted, click Delete, and then click OK twice.
NOTE: Domain names residing in the deleted folder are NOT removed from your account.
Adding Domain Names to Folders
You can copy your domain names into folders once you create them. You can copy multiple domain names into a folder at one time and a domain name can reside in multiple folders.
To Copy Domain Name(s) to a Folder
- Log in to your Account Manager.
- Next to Domains, click Launch.
- Select the domain name(s) you want to add to a folder.
- From the Organize menu, select Copy to Folder.
- From the Folder list, select the receiving folder for the selected domain names.
- Click OK twice.
NOTE: Folders display in alphabetical order.
Moving Domain Names Between Folders
You can move domain name(s) between folders using these instructions.
To Move Domain Name(s) Between Folder
- Log in to your Account Manager.
- Next to Domains, click Launch.
- Click Folders.
- Click the folder containing the domain name(s) to be moved.
- Select the domain names you want to move out of the folder.
- From the Organize menu, select Move to Folder, select the receiving folder, and then click OK twice.
Removing Domain Names from Folders
You can remove one or more domain names from folders. Here's how:
To Remove Domain Name(s) from a Folder
- Log in to your Account Manager.
- Next to Domains, click Launch.
- Click Folders.
- Click the folder containing the domain name(s) to be removed.
- Select the domain names you want to remove from the folder.
- From the Organize menu, select Remove from Folder and then click OK twice.
NOTE: Removing a domain name from a folder does NOT remove it from your account.
