Managing Domain Name Preset Profiles
Preset Profiles let you select a combination of preset attributes that you can automatically apply to your domain names. You create the profile in your Domain Manager and specify which attributes to include, such as locking and automatic renewal. Once you create the profile, you can add domain names to the profile to update them.

Adding Domain Names to a Preset Profile
After creating a Preset Profile in the Domain Manager, you can update domain names to match the attributes in the profile by adding them to the profile.
You can only add a domain name to one Preset Profile.
Attributes of a profile override the domain name's attributes. If you move a domain name from one profile to another, the domain name's attributes change to match the new profile.
If you do not include an attribute in the preset profile, that attribute does not update when you add domain names to the profile. For example, you add your hosted coolexample.com domain name and parked example.com domain name to a profile that does not include the Set Nameservers attribute. Both domain names retain their existing nameservers. That is, coolexample.com still uses hosted nameservers and example.com still uses parked nameservers.
To Add Domain Names to a Preset Profile
- Log in to your Account Manager.
- Next to Domains, click Launch.
- Select the domain names you want to add to a profile.
- From the Organize menu, select Add to Preset Profile.
- From Preset Profile, select the profile you want to use.
- If the Profile includes contact information that differs from contact information currently associated with the domain name, you might be prompted to select I authorize a 60-day rejection.... When prompted, you must authorize this rejection to proceed with the process.
NOTE: When you change the following domain name registrant information, you authorize us to reject all requests to transfer the domain name to another registrar for a 60-day period:
• Registrant First or Last Name (if Organization is blank)
• Organization (if not blank) - Click OK.
Deleting Domain Names from a Preset Profile

Synchronizing Domain Name Attributes in a Preset Profile
Preset Profile exceptions occur when the attributes of a preset profile are not compatible with a domain name added to it. When this occurs, we generate an exception to indicate we did not update the attribute.
For example, if you add a privately registered domain name to a profile with contact information, we generate an exception to indicate we did not update the contact information.
Exceptions also occur when you make direct change to a domain name that conflicts with an attribute of its associated preset profile.
For example, you add coolexample.com to a profile that updates the domain name's nameservers, and then you manually change the nameservers to a different value using the Zone File Editor in the DNS Manager. The attributes on coolexample.com no longer match the attributes for the preset profile, creating an exception.
Exceptions are normal and do not indicate a problem. See Viewing Exceptions for Preset Profiles for more information on viewing the exceptions.
If you want to synchronize the attributes to match the profile, here's how to do it.
To Synchronize Domain Name Attributes in a Preset Profile
- Log in to your Account Manager.
- Next to Domains, click Launch.
- Click the Preset Profiles folder.
- In Exceptions, click the profile containing the exceptions you want to view.
- Click Synchronize.
