Using a Treo 650 with Your Email

You can set up your Treo™ 650 to send and receive email for your personalized email address using the instructions below. Please note that information is provided for both IMAP and POP addresses.

Before You Start:

  • Have your full email address and account password ready.
  • Find your incoming and outgoing server names, click here to learn how.

To Use a Treo 650 with Your Email

  1. On your Treo 650, go to Applications, then tap VersaMail.
  2. Press the Menu key, select Accounts, then tap Account Setup.
  3. Tap New.
  4. In the Account Name field, enter a name to identify the account.
  5. From the Mail Service list, select Other.
  6. From the Protocol list, select IMAP or POP, and then tap Next.
  7. In the User Name field, enter your full email address.
  8. In the Password field, enter your password, and then tap OK.
  9. Tap Next.
  10. In the Email Address field, enter your full email address if not already populated.
  11. In the Incoming Mail Server field, enter you Incoming POP or IMAP Server.

  12. In the Outgoing Mail Server field, enter your Outgoing SMTP Server, and then tap Next.

  13. Tap Advanced.
  14. Enter the following for Incoming Server Settings:
    Port Number
    IMAP without SSL - 143
    IMAP with SSL - 993
    POP without SSL - 110
    POP with SSL - 995
    (Optional) Use Secure Connection (SSL)
    Select to activate
  15. Click Next.
  16. Under Outgoing Server Settings enter the following:
    Port Number
    Without SSL - one of the following: 25, 80, 3535
    With SSL - 465
    (Optional) Use Secure Connection (SSL)
    Select to activate
    Use authentication (ESMTP)
    Select to activate
    Username
    Your full email address
    Password
    Your email password
  17. Tap Done.
