I am getting a connection error when I try to publish my site.

As of Aug. 1, 2010 we have retired support for WebSite Complete. Existing documentation, however, remains available here for your reference. We recommend using WebSite Tonight® or Quick Shopping Cart® to replace WebSite Complete.

To resolve this publishing error, change your passive mode setting. This typically resolves the connection problem.

To Resolve a Publishing Error

  1. In the Publishing to the Internet window, open the advanced settings.
  2. Click on the Passive checkbox to change the mode.
  3. Click Done.
  4. Click OK to publish your site.

Note: With WebSite Complete, you can only publish to a hosting account that already has a WebSite Complete account on it. You can't publish to a new hosting account, or an account that has not previously contained WebSite Complete.
