You can change the domain name associated with your Quick Shopping cart to another existing domain, a subdomain, or to a domain not registered in this account.

NOTE:If you have an SSL Certificate attached to your current domain, you must first revoke the certificate in order to change the domain. This action will deactivate credit card checkout functionality. Once the domain is activated, you need to purchase and install a new SSL certificate.

To Change your Storefront Domain

  1. From the Set-Up menu, in the Business Information section, click Store Settings .
  2. Specify the domain name you want to use.
  3. Click OK.

NOTE:If your domain is registered with us the domain change should only take 2-3 hours. If your domain is registered elsewhere, the change will take at least 24 hours.

Forwarding Your Domain

Once your domain change is complete, you will need to forward the old domain to the new domain so all site requests will resolve to the correct domain name. For domain forwarding instructions, see Forwarding or Masking Your Domain.

Your domain change CANNOT be processed if:

  1. You are currently using an SSL on your site. To change your domain, you will have to revoke the SSL. To revoke your SSL, see Revoke an SSL Certificate then you can come back to the transfer page and perform the domain transfer. Once you finish the transfer process, you can purchase and install a new SSL certificate on your new domain. To install an SSL certificate, see SSL Installation Instructions.
  2. Your Quick Shopping Cart site has not yet been fully setup. In order for a domain transfer to process correctly, your Quick Shopping Cart set up must be complete. For Quick Shopping Cart set up instructions, see Quick Shopping Cart Checklist.

Configuring DNS for a Domain Change

If your zone file is with another company, you will need to contact them with your Quick Shopping Cart IP address so you can update your A record. To find your Quick Shopping Cart IP address see, Finding Your Quick Shopping Cart IP Address.
