Which programming languages do you support with CGI?

Our base CGI language support on Deluxe and Premium Linux shared hosting includes the following:

  • PERL (v 5.8.0)
  • PHP (v 4.3.11 & 5.1.2)
  • Python (v 2.3 & 2.4)
  • Ruby on Rails (v 1.1.6, v1.2.6, v2.0.5, v2.1.2, v2.2.2, & v2.3.2)

Other languages:

Applications written in a compiled language such as C++ are not supported unless the applications are compiled specifically to run under the Linux operating system.

NOTE: You cannot use Java and Ruby on Rails together on your hosting account. If you enable Java, you can no longer use Ruby on Rails.

4GH® accounts do not support Java. To see if you're affected, click here.

All hosting accounts purchased after 7/11/2011 do not support Java. Existing accounts with Java enabled are not affected by this update — unless you manually disable Java. Once disabled, there you cannot re-enable Java.
