Image Options in the Page Designer

The page designer in WebSite Tonight® is designed to make creating Web pages a quick and easy process. The convenient Toolbox keeps all of your Web building tools organized and accessible. The Toolbox is divided into sections to simplify the design process, helping you find what you need with ease. The Images section contains elements for working with images on your Web pages.

Adding an Image

WebSite Tonight lets you easily add an image you your Web page.

To Add an Image

  1. Log in to your WebSite Tonight account.
  2. From the Design menu, click Page Designer.
  3. If necessary, from the Page list, select the page you want to edit.
  4. Click the block you want to edit. Blocks are outlined in blue.
  5. Position your cursor where you want to add the image.
  6. Go to the Insert tab, and then click Image.
  7. From the Image Library, select the image you want to add.

  8. Click OK.

Editing an Image

WebSite Tonight lets you easily edit an image you display on your Web page.

To Edit an Image

  1. Log in to your WebSite Tonight account.
  2. From the Design menu, click Page Designer.
  3. If necessary, from the Page list, select the page you want to edit.
  4. Click the block you want to edit. Blocks are outlined in blue.
  5. Click on the image you want to edit.
  6. Go to the Options tab, and then select Edit Image
  7. To use the default size for the image, select Default.
  8. To select a different size, select Custom Size, and then do the following:
    • To keep the image proportions the same, select Keep Image Proportions.
    • In the Width and Height fields, specify the dimensions.
  9. To display alternate text if the browser cannot display the image, in the Alt Text field, specify the text.
  10. In the Padding/Borders area, do the following:
    • To add a border, in the Border Width field, specify the width, in pixels.
    • To specify the border color, click the color palette in the Border Color field, select a color, and then click OK.
    • To add image padding, in the Horizontal Padding and Vertical Padding fields, specify the amount of padding, in pixels.
  11. In the Position Image area, select an option for positioning text around the image.
  12. To preview the image, click Update Image Preview.
  13. To view the image at full size, click Preview Full Size.
  14. Click OK.

Changing a Background Image

WebSiteTonight lets you change the image you display as the background on a Web page.

To Change a Background Image

  1. Log in to your WebSite Tonight account.
  2. From the Design menu, click Page Designer.
  3. If necessary, from the Page list, select the page you want to edit.
  4. Go to the Page tab, and then click Edit Template Images.
  5. From the Select Image list, select the image you want to change.
  6. Click Change Image.
  7. Select the image you want to add.
  8. Click OK.
  9. Click OK.

Adding a Photo Album

With WebSite Tonight, you can add a series of images to a page by creating a photo album. You build a photo album using images from the Image Library, which contains both stock images and any images that you uploaded. For more information about the image library, see Using the Image Library.

To add a photo album, you must add a photo album block to one of the containers on your Web page before you can add images to the photo album. Then you can add images and manage the layout of your photo album. You manage your photo album through the Edit Photo Album window. You can add or delete images, specify the number of columns and rows that display in your album, and you can edit the image description.

To Add a Photo Album

  • From the Design menu, click Page Designer.
  • If necessary, from the Page list, select the page you want to edit.
  • Click the block you want to edit. Blocks are outlined in blue.
  • Click to place your cursor in the location where you want to add your photo album.
  • Go to the Insert tab, and then from the Images menu, select Image Collection.
  • Select a photo album type:
    Image Collection
    insert a series of images from the WebSite Tonight Library or custom images that you imported
    Photo Album
    If you purchased a Photo Album accounts, you can import photos from your Photo Album account into your WebSite Tonight page. Select the Photo Album account you want to import from, and then select the gallery that contains the images you want to import.
  • Click OK.
  • To add an image to your photo album click Add New Image.
  • Select an image from the Image Library and click OK.
  • In the Settings area, you may adjust the following:
    Number of columns
    Specify the number of columns you want to display in the photo album.
    Number of Rows
    Specify the number of rows you want to display in the photo album.
    Alignment
    Select Left, Center, or Right alignment.
    Background
    Select Classic, Solid Color, Image, or Transparent.
  • Click Apply Settings.
  • Click OK. (You may need to scroll down to view the OK button.)

    • Deleting an Image from a Content Block

    WebSite Tonight lets you easily delete an image you have added to a content block.

    To Delete an Image from a Content Block

    1. Log in to your WebSite Tonight account.
    2. From the Design menu, click Page Designer.
    3. If necessary, from the Page list, select the page that contains the image you want to delete.
    4. Move your mouse to the block that contains the image you want to delete, and click on the block.
    5. Click the image you want to delete.
    6. Press Delete.
