Authorizing a domain transfer requires your domain's authorization code, as well as the Transaction ID and Security Code we emailed to your domain's administrative contact.

1. Log in to your Account Manager.
2. In the My Products section, click Domain Manager.
3. From the Domains menu, select Pending Transfers.
4. Click the Authorization button and select Begin Transfer Authorization.
5. In the Transaction ID and Security Code fields, enter the codes sent to the administrative email, and then click Next.
6. Click Next again to confirm the transfer of the listed domains.
7. If applicable, enter the Authorization Code from the current registrar, and then click Finish.

You can see your domain's transfer progress and the recommended action to complete the process on the Pending Transfers page.

To Check Domains' Transfer Progress

1. Log in to your Account Manager.
2. In the My Products section, click Domain Manager.
3. From the Domains menu, select Pending Transfers.

This information displays:

Progress

The domain's current step in the domain transfer process. You can hover over the step to view a tooltip for the domain's current step.

Recommended Action

The recommended action to continue transferring the domain.

Admin Email

The administrative email address currently associated with the domain.

Click the domain to display this additional information:

Status

The domain's current status in the transfer process.

Use these tips to ensure your domain transfers smoothly.

• We do not transfer existing records and content from the previous registrar. If you did not choose to retain the domain's name servers on file with the previous registrar, we create a new zone file when the domain is activated in your account with us. This can be customized as needed through the Total DNS Control link in the Domain Manager. For more information, see About Transferring Your Domain .
• After we notify you that the transfer is complete, log in to your account and verify the domain's contact information. Inaccurate or incomplete information may result in the domain's cancellation.
• We can only contact the domain's administrative contact to authorize the transfer. Ensure it's correct with your current registrar.
• If your transfer wasn't completed in 30 days and expired, often we can restart it for you — contact our support for assistance.
• ICANN regulations prohibit transferring domains registered or previously transferred in the last 60 days.
• A transfer can only succeed if it's unlocked at the current registrar.
