Working with GoDaddy.com File Folder for Facebook
Using GoDaddy.com File Folder for Facebook®, you can store your personal files, such as pictures, movies, and textual documents, and share them with your friends or with the world. You control whether each stored file is available to the public, only to your friends, or visible solely to you.
Adding GoDaddy.com File Folder to Your Facebook Profile
You can easily add GoDaddy.com File Folder to your Facebook profile and begin using it immediately.
To Add GoDaddy.com File Folder to Your Facebook Profile
- Log in to your Facebook Account.
- Go to the GoDaddy.com File Folder application page.
- Click Go to this Application.
- Click Allow to let GoDaddy.com File Folder to pull your profile information, photos, your friends' information, and other content that it requires to function.
The GoDaddy.com File Folder application displays. You can now add files to your GoDaddy.com File Folder.
Adding Files to Your GoDaddy.com File Folder
After adding GoDaddy.com File Folder to your Facebook profile, you can immediately upload images.
To Add Files to Your GoDaddy.com File Folder
- Log in to your Facebook Account.
- From the Applications menu, select Edit All Applications.
- Click GoDaddy.com File Folder.
- Click Add Files.
- Click Browse, navigate to the image you want to upload, and then click Open. Repeat this process in each of the five fields, as necessary.
NOTE: If you want to add more than five files, you can return to this screen later.
- Select the option certifying that you have the right to distribute these files and that they do not violate the Facebook Terms of Use, and then click Upload Files.
- For each file you are uploading, you can complete the following file information:
- Enter a File Description (optional)
- Provide a brief description of the file.
- Select the Access Privileges

Private: File is visible only to you.
Friends: File is visible only to you and your Facebook Friends.
Public: File is visible to everyone accessing your Facebook profile. - Enter a Password (optional)
- If you want to password-protect this file, enter the password that viewers must enter to access the file.
- Click Save All Changes.
Inviting Friends to Your GoDaddy.com File Folder
From your existing Facebook friends list, you can invite friends to your GoDaddy.com File Folder. In this way, your select friends are automatically notified when you update your File Folder.
To Invite Friends to Your GoDaddy.com File Folder
- Log in to your Facebook Account.
- From the Applications menu, select Edit All Applications.
- Click GoDaddy.com File Folder.
- From the GoDaddy.com File Folder menu, click Invite.
- Select Friends from the displayed list. You can filter your list of Friends by typing names in the Find Friends field.
- Click Send Go Daddy File Folder Invitation.
If your friends do not already have GoDaddy.com File Folder, they'll receive an invitation to add it and see your files. The invitation also includes a link to each file.
NOTE: Only existing Facebook Friends are available to add to your GoDaddy.com File Folder. Adding friends to Facebook is a separate process you must perform in Facebook.
Editing GoDaddy.com File Folder Settings in Your Facebook Profile
You can easily edit your GoDaddy.com File Folder in your Facebook profile to determine privacy and display settings.
To Edit GoDaddy.com File Folder Settings
- Log in to your Facebook Account.
- From the Applications menu, select Edit All Applications.
- Next to GoDaddy.com File Folder, click Edit.
- Select the settings you want to allow GoDaddy.com File Folder to perform.
- Wall
- Select whether you would like Facebook to prompt you before publishing stories from GoDaddy.com File Folder, to never publish these stories, or to automatically publish stories of a specific size (for this option, you must select the desired story size for publishing).
- Profile
- Next to Box, select whether you want to add a GoDaddy.com File Folder section in your Boxes tab.
- Next to Privacy, select whether you want your GoDaddy.com File Folder to be available to your entire network and friends, to friends of friends, to your friends only, or to you only. You can also customize your privacy to exclude specific individuals.
- Bookmark
- Selecting this option places GoDaddy.com File Folder in your Applications tab. You can bookmark up to ten applications at a time.
- Click Close to save your changes.
Viewing Files Stored in Your GoDaddy.com File Folder
Your files, stored in GoDaddy.com File Folder, display on the home page of the application.
To View Your Stored Files in Your GoDaddy.com File Folder
- Log in to your Facebook Account.
- From the Applications menu, select Edit All Applications.
- Click GoDaddy.com File Folder.
Your files are displayed with their access privileges.
Updating File Information and Access Privileges
You can update the information associated with each file in your Go Daddy File Folder at anytime, including the description, visibility, and password protection.
To Update File Information
- Log in to your Facebook Account.
- From the Applications menu, select Edit All Applications.
- Click GoDaddy.com File Folder.
- Click the name of the file you want to modify.
- Update file information as necessary.
- Enter a File Description (optional)
- Provide a brief description of the file.
- Select the Access Privileges

Private: File is visible only to you.
Friends: File is visible only to you and your Facebook Friends.
Public: File is visible to everyone accessing your Facebook profile. - Enter a Password (optional)
- If you want to password-protect this file, select the Password-protected checkbox, and then enter the password that viewers must enter to access the file.
- Click Save Changes.
Your file information is updated.
Downloading Files from Your GoDaddy.com File Folder
From your file list, you can download any of your files to a local drive.
To Download Files from Your GoDaddy.com File Folder
- Log in to your Facebook Account.
- From the Applications menu, select Edit All Applications.
- Click GoDaddy.com File Folder.
- From the Actions list, click the Download icon (down arrow) next to the file you want to download.
- Click OK and select a local location to save the file.
Sharing Files from Your GoDaddy.com File Folder
One of the best features of the GoDaddy.com File Folder application is your ability to share files with your friends. In fact, you can send files directly to individuals not listed in your Facebook Friends list.
To Share Files from Your GoDaddy.com File Folder
- Log in to your Facebook Account.
- From the Applications menu, select Edit All Applications.
- Click GoDaddy.com File Folder.
- From the Actions list, click the Send icon (envelope) next to the file you want to send.
- In the To: field, enter the name of a friend, friend list, or email address.
- Update the Subject or Message. (optional)
- Click Send.
NOTE: You can send files via email to anyone. However, for the recipient to access the file, it must be labeled as Public (or as Friends if that email address is designated as a facebook friend).
Deleting Files from Your GoDaddy.com File Folder
If you determine you no longer want to keep a file in your GoDaddy.com File Folder, you can delete it at anytime.
To Delete Files from Your GoDaddy.com File Folder
- Log in to your Facebook Account.
- From the Applications menu, select Edit All Applications.
- Click GoDaddy.com File Folder.
- From the Actions list, click the Delete icon (X) next to the file you want to delete.
- Click Delete File.
The file is permanently deleted. Any comments associated with the file are removed as well. This operation cannot be undone.
Removing GoDaddy.com File Folder from Your Facebook Profile
If you find that you no longer want to have GoDaddy.com File Folder connected to your Facebook account, you can easily remove it. This action removes the application and all files stored in your File Folder.
To Remove GoDaddy.com File Folder from Your Facebook Account
- Log in to your Facebook Account.
- From the Applications menu, select Edit All Applications.
- Next to GoDaddy.com File Folder, click the Remove.
NOTE: The displayed Undo option is no longer available after you access a different page or refresh your screen.
GoDaddy.com File Folder is removed from your Facebook account. If you want to continue using it, you need to again add it.
