Here's the Lowdown: Now you can find your new domain just by sending a direct message from Twitter™. The domain check service looks for the domain name, and then, sends you a tweet with the status.

To Search for your Domain Name

  1. Go to Domain Check and follow us, or
From your Twitter home page, find and add "domaincheck" to your Following list.
  2. Send "domaincheck" a direct message (D) with the domain name that you want to find.
    • You can search for one domain at a time.
    • Do not include "www." For example, enter d domaincheck coolexample.net, where "coolexample" is the domain name and "net" is the extension.

The domain check service sends one of these replies:

  • "Domain name" is available: "link to register domain" or call 480-505-8877.
  • "Domain name" is already taken: Sorry, please try another domain, or call 480-505-8877.
  • "Domain name" is invalid: please enter a valid domain name, or call 480-505-8877.
  • A problem has occurred: Please try again, or call 480-505-8877. For more information, see Working with Go Daddy Domain Check for Twitter.

To Search for your Domain Name from a Mobile Device

To search for your domain name using a mobile device, you must have a Twitter account with a mobile device set up.

Send your text/SMS message to 40404 D domaincheck coolexample.net, where "coolexample" is the domain name and "net" is the extension.

Depending on where you are, send your tweet to one of the following codes:

  • In the US, use 40404.

  • In India, use 5566511.
  • Anywhere else, use +44 7624 801423

NOTE: There is a limit of 250 incoming messages per week when using the international short codes. For more information, see Twitter's help on devices.
